I Live in N.C, and Became a Recipient of a Class Action...

I live in N.C, and became a recipient of a class action lawsuite against the City Of Chicago, stemming from bias hiring process in 1995. My question is, could the State of North Carolina require me to file with them those earnings from the settlement even though the State of Illinois made Fed and State deductions on the monies?
